Patna, Sep 3: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has called for a statewide bandh in Bihar on Thursday, September 4, to protest against the alleged derogatory remarks made by congress workers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a public event in Darbhanga last week.

Addressing media persons, Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said that the bandh will be observed from 7 am to 12 noon. He, however, clarified that essential services, including emergency facilities and rail operations, will remain unaffected. The BJP Mahila Morcha will spearhead the protest demonstrations across the state.

JD(U) leader Umesh Kushwaha strongly condemned the remarks made during the opposition’s ‘voter adhikar yatra,’ saying, “Abusive words were used against Prime Minister Modi and his mother. This is wrong, both morally and politically. Despite this, no apology has come from the Mahagath Bandhan leaders, which shows their arrogance. They have insulted our mothers and sisters. Therefore, the NDA has decided to hold the Bihar bandh, with the women’s wing leading protests across the state.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without directly naming any leader, appeared to target congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav. Referring to them as ‘naamdaar’ (dynasts), PM Modi said such leaders born with a silver spoon cannot relate to the struggles of poor mothers and the suffering of their children.

“The hardships (Tapasya) of a poor mother, the pain of her son—these young princes, born into royal families, cannot understand. For them, power is nothing but a family inheritance,” PM Modi said while addressing a gathering.
