Prashanth Shetty Moodayuru to lead arecanut traders’ association, Tejaswi Raj elected secretary

Beltangady, Sep 3: The first-ever meeting of the district arecanut traders’ association, comprising Sulya, Puttur, Kadaba, Beltangady, Mangaluru, Bantwal, and Moodbidri taluks, was held on September 2 at Rangoli Bhavan, B C Road.

Presidents and office-bearers of arecanut traders’ associations from across the district took part in the meeting.

Prashanth Shetty Moodayuru from Madanthyar was unanimously elected as the new president. Tejaswi Raj was chosen as secretary, Salim as treasurer, while Jalesh Jivani Nirab and Bhavin Kamani were elected vice presidents. Sudheep Shetty Moodayuru and Dharnappa Ambala were elected as joint secretaries. In addition, 32 directors representing different taluks of the district were elected.

Speaking after being elected, Prashanth Shetty Moodayuru said that as president, he would work towards safeguarding the interests of arecanut traders and addressing the challenges they face in the district.
