Kundapur, Jan 3: An Omni van on the way from Brahmavar to Nagoor hit a road divider at Koteshwar underpass after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The van toppled over, but the passengers had a miraculous escape.
There were four passengers in the van including a one year old infant. A woman among them had sustained minor injuries. She was admitted into a local private hospital.
The travellers had gone to a private hospital in Brahmavar for the treatment of the child. The driver of the vehicle while returning to Nagoor drove the van at the end of the underpass without knowing the presence of a barricade. He suddenly applied brakes when he saw the barricade. The van lost control, hit the divider and toppled over. Local people who rushed to the spot rescued them.
The incident happened close to Kundapur traffic police station. Policemen rushed to the spot.
