Udupi, Mar 30: A protest was organized by JD (S) leaders demanding an inquiry into the sensational sleaze CD issue and involvement of MLA Raghupati Bhat in the incident, on Friday March 29.

They said that apparently the MLA is involved with the act, but is feigning ignorance. Deviprasad Shetty, JD(S) district president, felt that the issue should be investigated as it is a matter of public interest.

“Bhat is not a common man. As he is in a respectful political position, he is expected to behave more responsibly. His deed, which has blemished the value-based political scenario of the region, has put everyone to shame especially all the politicians,” the party said in its petition.

“Bhat has always been in the midst of one or the other controvercy. He is linked with his wife Padmapriya’s death, Malpe rave party, and illegal occupation of 110 acres of KIADB denotified land in Nandikoor village. JDS leaders want to know the whole truth behind the CD in question like when it was captured, where it happened, who were the persons behind it, and who is the woman involved, etc," the leaders stressed.

JDS leaders, Shalini Shetty Kenchanur, district vice president, and leaders like working president, Gulam Muhammad, Annaiah Naik, Jayakumar Parkala, Vishwanath Belapu and Vasudev Rao were present.

A petition was later submitted  by the leaders to to district deputy superintendent of police, Prabhudev Mane.

It is disgusting to see thick golden bangle on the wrist and strong finger rings and chain in the neck being exhibited by Devi Prasad Shetty being a leader of political party whose insight should be always poor, helpless people. Here Shetty may be thinking that his assets are qualifications for the post he is holding.Even Kumaraswamy is not wearing these type of ornaments which haunts the poor people.True peoples leader with concern for downtrodden, poor does not wears these type of ornaments in public which is humiliating the poor people. He looks like "circuit" of Munna Bhai MBBS film.

Deviprasad - According to Hindu marriage act having 2 wives at a time is a crime. Why you don't preach that to your leader HDK and then think about Bhat's private life.

If you have the CD enjoy it and relax, don't politicize the issue.

Bhat is an individual and someone had kept camera and recorded it like Narendra Modi did with his bete noire Sanjay Joshi.

Ismail Perinje, please don't oppose everything in BJP. I against BJP & RSS but certainly will support Bhat in this issue.

All politicians are corrupt there is no doubt about it. But BJP members are one step ahead and are sex starved politicians and are not ashamed of their act. Giving lecture of moral and cultural values without practicing it. Shameless creatures on Earth.

You mean, all misdeeds of past 60 years from Congress & JDS needs to be investigated & then BJP matter needs to be handled?
Sir, when law completes last 60 years investigation, BJP might finish our nation by curruption, rapes, attacks, sex scandals, communalism etc etc...

Is Deviprasad shetty a saint??? Has not done any thing like Mr Bhat did? He must question himeself and do the introspection of his own soul...is there any complaint by the woman against Mr Bhat to arrest him?? He has not raped any one. Its a consensual sex and why to make a hype aboout it just for political benefits?? Bhat may be a sinner but not a criminal to book and chargesheet him. Deviprasad Shetty has lost his wisdom...Let him look at his own courtyard first....

If having sex outside marriage is criminal activity than staying with 2nd wife is also criminal activity becuase in Hindus/Christians 2nd legal marriage is not allowed without divorse. Please ask the government to arrest Mr.Kumaraswamy who did above activity.

What Raghupathi Bhat did is an immoral act. It's a question of morality and his own prestige. There is no question of conducting any inquiry until and unless somebody accuses him of any crime. Even if it is proved true there is no law for punishing his act. Whereas what Kurien and Halappa did were criminal acts punishable under law.

I am definitely not a fan of BJP but I think it is a personal matter of Mr. Raghupathi Bhat. Where is the question of public interest here? Can't a public person have a private life? This is surely a conspiracy, maybe even an insider job. Moreover, if it is consensual liaison, it is none of anybody's concern except of the persons involved.

hundred percent agree with you, but did he speak against the BJP and Rama Sene, BD goondas when they were interfering with the private and personal life of individuals for the last four years? Why don't BJP learnt to distinguish private and public life early enough before being dumped as stinking trash by the voters?

KA...KUDLA.....A man who hide his identity preaching morals to others are indeed a joke. You are batting for Sanghparivars OK.But here issues are about principles. It is those are preaching Indian cultures, patriotism and DESHI-VIDESHI etc in fact are non patriotic. There may be few law makers are corrupt in JDS/CONG but not like the @ rate of present Govt has. They are utilizing emotional issues to make ill gotten bucks.BJPwalas right from the Beginning indulged in corruptions (in less than 5 years all unprecedented things happened in Karnataka's political history)My question is why they are boasting as 24 karats?1)Corruptions-no actions from party 2)RAPE-no actions from party 3)immoral sex episode no action from party and finally @ least A SHOW CAUSE NOTICE!!!!!!!
