Mumbai: Programme organized in memory of Shailaja Anchan

Mumbai, Feb 18: “Shailaja Anchan was a good organizer and a social worker. This programme organized in memory of Shailaja Anchan by Ravi Anchan is really appreciable. Shailaja will always be there with us. Many more programme should be organized in her name. Such programmes are really meaningful and is a true tribute to her,” said renowned litterateur, former president of Kanada Pradhikara Bangaluru Prof essor S G Sidharamaiha.

He was addressing a seminar ‘Sanskrithi- Charitre-Shikshana-Adunika Karnataka Jignase’ and release of Petri Vishwanatha Shetty ‘s poetry collection organized by Shailaja Anchan foundation and Sirivar Cultural Institution in memory of late Shailaja Anchan.

“No person can become a good poet unless he suffers grief. To overcome this he chooses poetry. This work which includes ones experience and truth is used to express ones emotions. Only a person with true emotions can become a poet,” he said.

Roopa Hassan, renowned thinker and poet, presided on the occasion. He said that the institution should also concentrate on educating poor women.

Dr Savitha Vinnu, professor, R P A College Bangalore introduced the work ‘Nelagampu’.

Dr Nithyanada B Shetty presented a paper on ‘Mannina Pavitra Karana’ and ‘Karavaliya Ekikarana’; professor S G Sidharamaiah spoke on ‘Bijwala-Nalvadi-Arasa:Karnataka Baduku’, Roopa Hassan spoke about Karnataka ‘Shaishanika Hakuglu and Vastavathe’.

Ranganath Sirivar organized theatre songs of Adiyalli Jokumar Swamy. Poet Petri Vishwanatha Shetty expressed his views. Sushila Devadiga Sang nada Geethe; Dr Akshari Ravi Anchan welcomed; Shanlunthala R Prabhu offered condolences; Ravi R Anchan compered; Sachin K S introduced the guests.
