Yogish Shetty appointed Karnataka state president of All India Consumer Protection Organisation

Mumbai, Sep 15: Yogish Shetty Jeppu, editor of Tulunadu Surya and founder president of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, has been appointed as the Karnataka state president of the All India Consumer Protection Organisation (Akhil Bharatiya Upbhokta Utthan Sangathan).

Based on the recommendation of the national vice president, national president Harishankar Shukla issued the official appointment order on September 15. The tenure of this appointment is effective from September 15 until September 30, 2028. The order specifies that the appointment is subject to the approval and ratification of the organisation's central executive committee.

Yogish Shetty Jeppu has previously served as a corporator of the Mangaluru City Corporation. He is the recipient of several accolades, including the district Rajyotsava award, state youth achiever award, Jnana Saraswati state award, and Sangha Ratna state award.

He is now tasked with the responsibility of strengthening the organisation in Karnataka on matters related to consumer rights, consumer awareness, and public interest. He is expected to activate the organisation's units across various districts of the state, educate consumers about their rights, and work in coordination with the relevant government departments.

The primary objective of the organisation is to ensure consumers receive safe and quality products and services, enhance awareness about consumer rights, and address consumer grievances through legal and democratic means. Various social, organisational, and consumer advocacy groups in Karnataka have conveyed their congratulations to him on his new role.

"Protecting consumer rights and raising consumer awareness among the public is our main priority. We will work honestly to strengthen the organisation across Karnataka and ensure every consumer is aware of their rights," Yogish Shetty stated.
