South Indian points are in our radar, and Mangalore is a destination very much on cards.”

“In India SpiceJet connects to all major cities including Mangalore. Hence, even now Dubai-Mumbai-Mangalore should be a good option for Mangalore-bound passengers, until Dubai-Mangalore direct flight is launched, said the CEO.

"Opening up Dubai is a milestone for us as it will offer us an opportunity to serve the large Indian and Western expatriate community along with the UAE citizens with an affordable flying option," said Spicejet Chief Executive Officer Neil Mills.

In the Indian domestic market SpiceJet connects 34 points with a fleet of 42 aircraft, flying over 40,000 passengers per day. Mills added that as a low fare airline, SpiceJet’s philosophy behind pricing policy is to ensure affordable flight fares to its customers.

First of all, thanks to those who tried whatever bit they can do. I can see picture Mr.Rajesh sequeira who can not be forgotten for what he has done for landing flights in Bajpe.

Honestly, the present flight schedule has no charm at all. I would prefer flying AIE than this one because which fool will wait for a day for reaching Mangalore?

My request to Daijiworld (who played a major role in landing the flights to Mangalore) is that we need to put pressure on our elected reps by campaigning for Intl Airport. The campaign should revolve around vote bank. the theme should be: "Vote for the leader who made Bajpe intl airport". This is the only language politicians understand. Enough is enough. Lies after lies by Moily and Oscar. Let them give an account of what they did in this direction.

Honestly, I feel that Sonia's close confidants may be advising against declaring it as an Intl airport considering the risk.

The Runway in the Mangalore Airport need to be fully Concretized .When the Flight makes a landing it is difficult for the Pilot to recognise the Landing area as it is Mountain filled with greenery everywhere .A Good runway makes landing safe and easy .

More competition is required from International players at M'Lore airport, which is long overdue due to delay in upgrading the status at M'Lore. Spice jet and others may take the lead to do so to avoid further burden imposed by monopoly of AIE on Gulf/M'lore passengers.

I think as first step we should appreciate this step with spice jet as an option to fly to mangalore even if required to spend a night in Mumbai and fly the next day. It is better than either waiting at airport not knowing for sure if AIE will take off or even worse that you reach the airport only to know that the scheduled flight is cancelled. I am sure in the near future we will see direct flights to M'lore other than AIE for which we have to be patient and wait.

I agree with Lydia lobo and Bhavna connecting flight to Mangalore via Mumbai that too next day..doesn't digest as i do not call this as connecting if it is for the same day then YES...the same with Jet Airways if all we want to travel by Jet Airways to Mangalore via Mumbai we have to spend nearly SIX hours in Mumbai airport..So in my opinion talking about connecting flights Jet Airways is better option rather than Spice Jet...anyways all the best and start direct flight from Dubai to Mangalore as soon as possible because we badly need a direct flight from other airlines...
    Rajesh Sequeira..attention to you...go ahead..

Spice jet service (dept time and ground operations) is good between Mumbai-Mangalore-Mumbai.I think the Management is missing on one more route - Dubai-Banglaore-Mangalore and if the arrival time is anything in day or night the connection from Bangalore can be more feasible as many options for passengers to from namely - surface transport between Bangalore and Managalore is excellent. How about this route. The connection to Mangalore would be same day itself( just a matter of 8-10hours)depending upon each one's requirement.

Good news.... Its a break thru'. Return flight from M'lore to Dubai is quite convenient. But from Dubai its bit of more time consuming. Nevertheless, we dont have to face the hell like air india express. At Mr. Mills put forth that they are working on direct flights. The day it starts direct flights to M'lore from Dubai, I am sure they will never repent for the decision make. Hope air india pilots carry on their strike, while our govt. is forced to give private airlines to start their services.

First of all We don't understand why the delay in announcing Mangalore as an International Airport Status than the present so called the Customs Airport. We from Saudi Arabia are eagerly waiting to have a direct flight from Dammam to Mangalroe or Riyadh to Mangalore. I don't think it will happen soon. Where is our Great Mr. V. Moily who promissed that Mangalore Airport will be d soon as an International Airport. It is more than 100 days completed after UP Elections. Why Mr. Ajit Singh still don't have any time to meet with Mr. Moily? Hope our Dream will remain as a Dream for ever..
