Mangalore: Two MRPL Workers Die in Freak Accident

Mangalore, Mar 19: Two workers of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) lost their lives in a tragic incident that occured on Monday March 19.

The deceased have been identified as Janashekhar Annan (28) and Mari Muttu (21), both from Tamil Nadu.

Janashekar was the driver and Nari the cleaner of a company truck that is used to ply coal tar.

On Monday, the two drove in the loaded truck and at a check point, Janashekar reportedly opened the coal tar tanker for inspection. The coal tar inside was at a high temperature, and Janashekhar lost his balance while opening the lid and fell inside, it is said.

In an instant, Mari rushed to rescue Janashekhar, but he too fell in.

Though they were picked out from the tanker, they could not be saved.

Suratkal police have registered a case in this regard.

    MRPL was built buy strong political background, these company pain lots of millions to the police and the political leaders. now they don't care about our local people,and they give the jobs to the other state people. so the bottom line is Our people have no jobs in Karnataka. There is no action taken against this company from the bigining while several employees died because of no safety. Money is everything, these people buy law by money.

    All companies in KA are recruiting people from other states for all level of jobs. Only political strong hands in KA are getting jobs in KA, all coomon people have to beg in other states. This is how our govt.of KA slowly selling the state to dogs. Companies in other state are treating people from KA like mad beggars.......KA's wealth being looted all the way...GOD save KA.

    Its not about region.. It can also be because they dont find kannadigas.. Example its so hard to find a mason for sundry works.. Even carpenters.. We literally have to beg them to do small works at our homes.. Same thing for plumbers and electricians.. They want big brand work like flats!!! That is the state of finding locals for help!

    Accidents yes...sad news. But point to be noted is like the other day geology dept chkpost kutty all central govt. employing outsiders in KA ! even security guards! Its a shame ! The state govt should take action(and not KRV or other such small oufits)against such central cos to recruit locals/kannadigas. It is not so in other states and state govt will cry hoarse at the of a hat!!!
