Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 18:Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, August 18, reported 19 new coronavirus cases while 11 cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,49 out of which 67 are currently active. As many as 17 patients were discharged on August 18.
Zero death was reported on August 18. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,858.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.11% percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
11 coronavirus cases were reported on August 18. The total active Covid cases are 35.
A total of 10,90,280 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,988 have received both doses and 2,19,749 people have received booster doses.
Udupi reported six cases, while Kundapur added five and Karkala registered zero cases.
