Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 14:Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, August 14, reported 20 new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,435 out of which 75 are currently active. As many as 4 patients were discharged on August 14.
Zero death was reported on August 14. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,857.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.36% percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Eight coronavirus cases were reported on August 14. The total active Covid cases are 36.
A total of 10,90,186 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,825 have received both doses and 2,07,777 people have received booster doses.
Udupi reported three cases, while Kundapur added four and Karkala registered zero cases.
