Mangaluru: 38-feet beautiful Tricolour rangoli is cynosure of all eyes at Kudroli

Mangaluru, Aug 14: To mark the Amrut Mahotsav (75th anniversary of the country's Independence), the Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple Committee has drawn a 38 feet tricolor national flag with food grains (Dhanya) and vegetables on the premises of Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple here on Sunday, August 14.

Former minister B Janardhan Poojary inaugurated the rangoli. He also greeted the public for the 75th anniversary of the country's Independence on the occasion.

Speaking to media, Padmaraj, treasurer of Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple Committee said, "The workers of Guru Beladingalu along with others have drawn this rangoli after sitting for 18 hours. The rangoli is drawn for 38 feet. We also placed 54 kalashas around the circle of the tricolor flag. Nearly 900 kilograms of food grains and 90 kilograms of vegetables have been used for this rangoli."

 

He also said that veteran politician Janardhana Poojary was invited for the launch of this rangoli because he was a sincere politician who served the society without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and religion.

The concept is by Sathish Ira and Punik Shetty has designed this rangoli.

Speaking to daijiworld Sathish Ira, said, "The beautiful ' Pookalam' is being drawn in Vadakkunnathan Temple premises in Thrissur. So, I explained the same concept to temple authorities and asked them to draw this rangoli as part of the 75th anniversary. So they made arrangements for the same." 

Several people who thronged the temple took selfies on the premises of rangoli.

Corporater Anil Kumar, Rajesh Suvarna and others were present on the occasion.
