Kundapur: Fraudster asks for Rs 2,000 currency note, steals Rs 52,000 from petrol pump's cash drawer

Kundapur, Aug 13: A man who arrived at Trasi petrol pump to put diesel to his car, decamped with Rs 52,000 cash that was kept in the drawer after asking for Rs 2,000 currency note. The matter came to light a bit late.

A stranger, having features of a foreigner, came to Trasi petrol pump at around 4.40 pm on June 19 around 4.40 pm in a Honda Amaze car. He paid Rs 500 for the diesel that was put in the car. Later, he asked the person at cash counter in English language whether he can get Rs 2,000 currency note. The cash counter person said that he has one. The stranger diverted his attention saying whether it is kept in some other drawer and stole Rs 52,000 cash and escaped from the spot.

As the process of raising complaint with HP got delayed, police complaint was filed late. A case in this connection is registered now in Gangolli police station based on the complaint given by Manoj, who was at the cash counter of Trasi petrol pump.
