Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 12: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, August 12, reported 14 new coronavirus cases while seven cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,398 out of which 53 are currently active. As many as 15 patients were discharged on August 12.
No eath were reported on August 12. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,857.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.32 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Seven coronavirus cases were reported on August 12. The total active Covid cases are 29.
A total of 10,90,159 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,737 have received both doses and 2,03,951 people have received booster doses.
Udupi reported four cases and Kundapur added 3 cases.
