Bengaluru, Aug 9: Karnataka on Tuesday, August 9, reported 1,608 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 10,790. Bengaluru urban's single-day tally is 1098.
Two deaths were reported due to coronavirus in the state on Tuesday. The death toll in the state has risen to 40,123.
The state recorded 2068 discharges from hospitals on Tuesday, taking the total discharges to 39,71,759.
So far, Karnataka has seen 40,22,714 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 6.29%. As many as 11,68,82,208 people have received vaccination so far.
