Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 7: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday August 7, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,346 out of which 86 are currently active. As many as 7 patients were discharged on August 7.
One death was reported on August 7. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,855.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distancing in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.53 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Five coronavirus cases were reported on August 7. The total active Covid cases are 36.
A total of 10,90,043 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,338 have received both doses and 1,89,211 people have received booster doses.
Udupi reported three cases and Kundapur added two.
