Mangaluru, Aug 7: A couple, who married after being in a relationship for two-and-half years, has gone missing since August 1. A case in this connection is filed in Padubidri police station.

Shifa Sheikh (25) and Riyaz (28) went missing after they left their house at Nandikoor-Adve saying they were going to Udupi to buy a mobile phone.

Riyaz was employed in a mobile shop in Manipal. Shifa Sheikh’s parents had passed away before her marriage. She was studying in the final year of BAMS when her parents died. So she cut short her education and married Riyaz.

Recently, when the couple went to their relative’s house in Shivamogga, their two-and-half year old baby also died.

Riyaz’s mobile is switched off while Shifa has not taken her mobile phone with her when she left the house as per the information provided by the police.
Padubidri police are investigating further.
