July 6: Dakshina Kannada reports 13 Covid cases, Udupi adds 1 infection


Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 6: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday July 6, reported 13 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 1 case.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,899 out of which 80 are currently active. Ten patients were discharged on July 6.

No deaths were reported on July 6. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

Positivity rate is at 1.30 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One coronavirus case was reported on July 6. The total active Covid cases are 20.

A total of 10,88,783 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,78,267 have received both doses and 1,07,435 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported one case. Five patients were discharged on July 6.
