Kasargod: Accused escape from police - Three cops suspended

Kasargod, May 24: Three policemen were suspended in connection with the escape of an accused while he was being brought to court.

Assistant sub inspector Sajeevan, Jasheer and Arun are suspended by DIG Rahul R Nair on dereliction of duty.

The incident took place on the Monday May 23 morning at B C Road in Vidyanagar. Ameer Ali (23), who was in Kannur jail in connection with narcotic drug supply, escaped from the clutches of three policemen by diverting their attention to somewhere else.

A manhunt is on to track absconding Ameer Ali. So far his whereabouts are not known.
