Platini to Be Re-elected UEFA President


Nyon (Switzerland), Dec 24 (DPA) Former French international Michel Platini is to be re-elected as the president of UEFA's (Union of European Football Associations) governing body in March.

UEFA said in a statement Thursday that no opposition candidate had put forward his name by the date of the submission deadline.

The president will be elected at the UEFA Congress in Paris March 22 next year.

Platini was the only candidate whose name was put forward and he will be seeking a second four-year term of office from 2011 to 2015.
