Udupi, Jan 15: Social worker and convener of Citizen’s Committee Trust, Nithyananda Volakadu sought to spread awareness among people about Covid-appropriate behaviour by donning a dress resembling Coronavirus.

Harish, sub inspector, town station, launched the Covid 19 awareness drive. The programme was held with the support of the police department. SI Harish said, “People are ignoring their health. Though there is curfew today, many are moving around in the city giving excuses. People are participating in meetings, large gatherings, and religious functions. The government has imposed weekend and night curfew to curb the spreading of the virus. No one is foloowing Covid guidelines in public places. No one will come to protect you. Protect yourself and avoid attending functions.”

Nityananda Volakadu said, “This event is to raise awareness among people against Covid. People are educated, but not following the rules. During the weekend curfew, people should not go around without reason. We will hold an awareness programme on the day of Paryaya also.”
