Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Dec 31: In an incident that occurred on Thursday December 30 at Haregodu of Hemmadi in the taluk, a youth, employee of a software company of Bengaluru, ended his life as he was unable to repay the loan he had taken through a mobile app.

Vignesh (24), son of Sanjeeva Devadiga, resident of Haregodu Kolahitlu is the deceased. He slept at home after having dinner on the night of Wednesday and must have ended his life on Thursday morning. When his grandfather Heriya Devadiga got up in the morning, the door of Vignesh’s room was found open. When they searched near the house, they found him hanging close to the residence.

In his death note, Vignesh wrote, “The loan which I have taken through mobile app is the reason for my suicide. I am not able to repay it. So I am killing myself. If anyone calls you people and asks for a loan tell them that we do not know Vignesh or he is dead. I am going away deceiving everyone. Forgive me. On Friday, my salary will arrive. The telephone number of the office worker is there. Make a call and inform him.”

Vignesh was the second child of Sanjeeva and Kanaka couple. He used to work for a company in Bengaluru. He came to native place during the first lockdown and was working from home itself. A year ago, he had opened a footwear showroom near Brahmavar in partnership with his friends. It is said that he had taken a huge amount of loan on a mobile app in order to invest in the business. Due to lockdown, the business did not yield income as expected. The people who provided him loan might have harassed him forcing him to kill himself as per family members.

A case in this regard is registered in Kundapur police station.
