Bengaluru: CM's reaction about moral policing attracts angry retorts

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 14: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai's statement about moral policing that it is but natural for reaction to follow action has met with widespread anger.

Bommai had made this statement on Wednesday. He had said that when emotions are hurt, naturally reactions happen, duly adding that it is the duty of the government to protect social harmony. This statement has been shared through the state BJP social website. Several have criticized the statement of the chief minister. A huge campaign under the head, #BommaiStopMoralPolicing, has been launched on Twitter.

Congress and JD(S) expressed concern about the fact that the chief minister had issued statement in support of people who are engaged in communal rowdyism. They feel that this is a dangerous development as there is the risk of people indulging in more such acts, the Congress and JD(S) members have commented, expressing concern.

Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal, noted that the chief minister of the state has supported communal goondas. She wondered what can be expected from others if the chief minister behaves like this. She advised the people of the state to keep themselves safe without expecting the government to look after their safety.

Democratic Youth Federation of India state president, Muneer Katipalla, said that the statement made by the chief minister who took oath in the name of the constitution is shameful. He expressed the fear that communalists who get encouraged by the said statement, are sure to take to streets. He asked the chief minister to seek an apology from the citizens of the state.

Youth Congress president, Mohammad Haris Nalapad, said that such reckless statements create worry about the safety of the people. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the people but this irresponsible government has been trying to create rift between the people.

That is the condition and order from BJP high command to observe and implement RSS agenda if Bomma wants to stay as CM and he will kill any law biding, tax paying, innocent person to stay in power. All the terrorist, criminal, rapes and communal activities in the society has BJP’s blessings. This is BJP’s not double engine development but multi engine devastation and loot.

Politicians like this will surely bring an end to the BJP's existence & survival in the days to come (earliest the better) Is India a secular and a elected democratic country or Religious Fanatic Republic. What difference is there between Afghanistan Taliban and our politicians and the people who support BJP. If criminals, rogues, legally unauthorized bachalies, Poli people are interfering in peoples personal life then how we can have peace coexistence. People must wake up and get rid of indirect dictatorial way of ruling the country. Country belong to all and not subjected to only BJP/RSS demands. Just realize from the disastrous situation of Afghan and the people over there.

If there will be action and reactions, it will be a chain of reactions. You are unnecessarily putting law enforcement authorities in trouble. May be, we have to bear all these drama, until next election.

Mangaluru should be renamed again to MoralPolicing_uru. There are videos of so many incidents from Mangalore on youtube and in the comments people are supporting such behaviour of the goons. No company from outside the state or abroad is going to set up in Mangalore after seeing all this. Smart city for oversmart goons.

You die by a suicide attack of Islamic terrorist or in communal riots by Sanghis or shooting by communal police, all is the same and eventually you die. However, Terrorists are outlaws and when the state acts like a terrorist itself then this is a bigger sin.

Without doubt, it is a reprehensible statement. This statement will provide a shot in the arm for those who indulge in immoral policing. I am at a loss to know what will happen if such irresponsible statements are issued by those in authority. The act was atrocious and it certainly called for a rap on the knuckles but here we have an MLA intervening and arranging a safe and respectful release from the police station and if that was not bad enough, we have the CM indirectly abet the act. Who will the hapless victims turn to for help?
