Mangaluru: Miscreant attacks, injures three women, detained

Mangaluru, Sep 20: Three women were injured after an unidentified miscreant barged into the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) center located at Karangalpady near Jail compound and attacked them, on Monday September 20.

The injured have been identified as Reena, Gunavathi and Nirmala. They work at the DIET center.

The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Barke police reached spot. 

The attack occurred at 1 pm where a miscreant, who was in his thirties, entered the campus and in the pretext of meeting a staff to give a gift. He took out a sharp weapon and attacked three female staffs. The injured trio was hospitalised and are said to be out of danger.

After the attack, the jail staff and public caught hold of the accused Naveen (31) who is working as a peon at Kundapur court. Further investigation is in progress.
