Karnataka records 1,108 fresh cases, 18 deaths in last 24 hours

Bengaluru, Sep 16: Karnataka on Thursday, September 16 registered 1,108 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 16,174. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 308.

As many as 18 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Thursday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 5 deaths, the death toll in the state has risen to 37,555.

The state recorded 809 discharges from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total discharges to 29,11,434.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,65,191 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.66% while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.62%.

As many as 4,84,71,123 people have received vaccination so far.
