Sullia, Sep 4: It is reported that at the vaccination camp held at Dugaladka high school in the taluk recently, a health assistant, by oversight, administered two shots of the anti covid vaccine to a youth within a gap of a few seconds.

The incident happened during the vaccination drive organized on Wednesday. K B Arun, son of Balalsubrahmanyam from Kootelu CRC colony, had visited the camp to get the first dose of the vaccine. The health assistant administered the vaccine to him. Arun, even after getting the shot, remained seated there, waiting for the pills for fever to be given to him. The health assistant who came with a new syringe felt that another person had come for the vaccination, and therefore injected Arun with the vaccine again.

This gave rise to worry about the likely reactions. But the taluk health officer, Dr Nandakumar, assured that there is nothing to worry. He advised the youth to consume food properly.
