Bantwal: Assault accused absconding for eight years arrested

Bantwal, Sep 3: The accused of an assault incident absconding for the last eight years without appearing in the court was arrested by Vittal station police team at Pallatadka, near Badiadka and produced in the court.

The arrested was Kokala resident Mohammed Farook (43). He had begun arguments with Manchi resident Devappa Naika regarding financial matters, hurled expletives at him, pushed him, kicked him and threatened to kill him near Kolnad bus stand on October 31, 2006. He has been absconding since 2013 without appearing in court. A warrant was released for his arrest. The police team under the leadership of Vitla station police inspector Nagaraj has arrested the accused after receiving definite information.
