Ashwath launches Mega Job Mela involving 42 companies

Bengaluru, Sep 3: Launching a mega job mela in Bengaluru on Friday, Higher Education and Skills Empowerment as well as IT/BT Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said the mela would have 42 companies offering more than 2,000 jobs.

As of now, 1300 persons have registered themselves with 30 companies physically recruiting employees on the spot with another 12 companies conducing online recruiting.

Dr Narayan asked the youth to make the best use of the opportunities and perform well to land the jobs in the prestigious companies and thereby come up in life while contributing to the growth of companies.

The Minister said Karnataka offered the best scope and opportunities for youth and said the companies would be enabling them to acquire skills and develop them for mutual benefit. Opportunities for working abroad are also available for the youth with the right skills and aptitudes, he said.

State Skills Development Corporation Managing Director Ashwin Gowda and others participated in the function.

National Symposium on NEP

Dr Narayan later inaugurated a national symposium on the New Education Policy jointly organised by the Mount Carmel College and Bengaluru City University at the Jnanajyothi Auditorium and the policy would help in India’s growth as a developing country.

Mount Carmel College Principal Sr (Dr) Arpana, University Vice Chancellor Prof Lingaraj Gandhi, State Higher Education Council Vice President Prof Thimmegowda, entrepreneur and educationist Dayanad Pai, Pro-Chancellors of University K N Shridhar, Dr B Ramesh and others participated in the national symposium.

While the Higher Education Minister felicitated Priya H Mohan, who had won the bronze medal in the 4x400 meter relay race in the Under 20 Junior Athletic Meet held in Nairobi in Kenya, Dayanand Pai honoured the athlete by presenting cheque for Rs 5 lakh.
