Bengaluru, Sep 3: In an official order sent to all deputy commissioners (DCs), chief secretary of the government P Ravikumar, clarified that the government has not made corona vaccination to get benefits of any scheme.

DC of Chamarajanagar had sent out a controversial order of ‘No pension, no ration’ if one does not take vaccination. Some tahsildars also followed the suit.

CS Ravikumar, who has sent out a letter to all the DCs and district health officers has clearly stated that the government has not made it mandatory for the beneficiaries of any scheme to take corona vaccination. If anyone has resorted to such action, it should be withdrawn with immediate effect. Other methods should be followed to make people aware about coronavirus vaccination.

Health minister Dr Sudhakar had responded to the query on the order taken out by DC of Chamarajanagar and said on Wednesday that no such rule is made and he will discuss the same with CM Bommai. Accordingly, CS Ravikumar has taken out orders on Friday September 3.
