Kasargod: Woman found hanging from rope, husband goes missing

Kasargod, Sep 3: On Thursday September 2 morning, the body of a woman was found hanging from a rope inside a shed next to her home. At the same time, strangely, her husband went missing.

The victim of this incident was Anitha (45), wife of Kannan Namboodiri, resident of Kallamkoodlu near Narampady. The couple's ten-year-old son, who saw the lifeless body of his mother, rushed out and informed the neighbours. Thereafter, policemen from Adoor station arrived on the spot.

Kannan Namboodiri was found missing. His mobile phone too has been switched off, the police said. Kannan Namboodiri was from Kollam. He had acquired land at Karadka Kallamkoodlu just six months back. The existing house on the site had been demolished and foundation for a new house had been laid. Kannan had built a temporary two-room accommodation next to the foundation where the family lived. Locals said that Kannan also was sorcerer.

Kannan had left home on September 1 afternoon. At night, Anitha and Akash were the only two at home, it is said.
