Karkala: Elderly woman brushes teeth with rat poison, dies

Karkala, Sep 3: In a tragic incident that occurred at Kalabettu of the taluk an elderly woman, who brushed her teeth with rat poison due to oversight, died in the hospital.

Kalavathi (61) is the unfortunate woman who lost her life in this incident. She mistook rat poison for paste and brushed her teeth on the morning of August 22. As she got ill suddenly, the family members checked the tube which she had used for brushing the teeth and came to know that by oversight the deceased had used rat poison instead of toothpaste. Though she was rushed to the hospital immediately, she succumbed on the next day.

A case in this connection is registered at Karkala police station.
