Mangaluru, Sep 2: Congress leader Mamatha Gatty questioned BJP’s silence on the rising prices of fuel and cooking gas.

Addressing media here on Thursday September 2, she said, “BJP leaders like Shobha Karandlaje, Smrithi Irani and Nirmala Sitaraman stepped onto the streets during the Congress’ term when the petrol price was Rs 67, diesel Rs 60 and cooking gas Rs 335. Today, the prices of petrol, diesel and gas have skyrocketed. These BJP leaders are not uttering a single word against it. They do not seem to understand the pain of the public.

“The gas subsidy has been stopped without any prior initiation. Even under Ujjwal scheme, the subsidy was given just for three months which has stopped now,” she said.

Congress leaders Appi, Sabitha Misquith, Shobha Keshav and others were present.
