Kasargod, Aug 31: A passenger who arrived at Kannur airport from the Gulf wearing trousers having an additional, gold plated layer, was held by the customs officials.
The man came from the Gulf region on Monday August 30 morning. The officials noticed that there was tension in his face. He tried to rush out of the airport. The customs officials grew suspicious about the way he behaved and walked. He was taken inside and subjected to a detailed check. The officials could not find anything even after checking his pockets, purse etc. Scanning revealed that there was gold in his trousers. He was carrying an additional layer inside of which was gold plated. 302 grams of gold worth Rs 14 lac was recovered in this case.
