Udupi, Aug 30: Niranthar Udyavar in association with Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine and ICYM Udyavar felicitated Nihal Tauro, who finished as one of the finalists of Indian Idol, season 12, on Sunday August 29 at St Francis Xavier, Church Hall, Udyavar.
Addressing the gathering K Ragupathi Bhat, MLA, Udupi constituency said, “Nihal Tauro should reach the elite club of senior singers. He is blessed with special qualities. Let him not stop over here. Rather, he should go forward and should achieve even greater heights. We already know that he is a down-to-earth person. May he succeed as a playback singer.”
Vinaya Kumar Sorake, former minister, speaking on the occasion said, "Not only has our state but the world praised Nihal's achievement. Encouraging the achievers inspires more talents to emerge. We are all happy with Nihal's achievement and wish him all the best.”
FrStany B Lobo, chancellor, diocese of Udupi and parish priest, St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar said, “In life, one should have a target to achieve a goal. Since childhood days, Nihal had kept the goal and today he has successfully achieved it. Let this be an inspirational to all youths.”
Receiving the felicitation Nihal Tauro said, “I speak less, but I love music a lot. My dad is my role model. With support and encouragement, I was in a battle for 10 months. I have put in a lot of efforts to reach this milestone.”
On the occasion, various associations felicitated Nihal Tauro. His parents, Harold Tauro and Prescilla Tauro, and brother Nishan Tauro were honoured.
