Udupi Youth Congress stage protests against privatisation of govt properties

Udupi, Aug 28: The district Youth Congress staged protests near Indrali railway station here opposing the decision of the union government to sell government properties.

Sudhir Kumar Maroli addressing the protesters said that they are being questioned about what they did during the last 70 years. “We have provided Covid vaccinations without publicity banners and without a picture of any prime minister. Some people are demanding that finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman should be removed from her post. Nirmala Seetaraman is only a mask. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and RSS are planning to do business in her name. Privatization is the part of destroying the constitution formed by the Congress. There is a conspiracy to make government employees slaves of private owners through selling government properties to private parties. The reservation laid down in the constitution is being removed by it. The airport of Mangaluru is one of the main contributions by the Congress party to the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. You have sold it. Is Nalin Kumar Kateel not drinking your blood now?” he asked.

“The administration of the country is given in the hands of senseless people. Ganeshotsava was the way adopted for awareness of the freedom campaign. We are bound by its ban for scientific reasons. But if a similar decision was taken by Siddaramaiah government, Shobha Karandlaje, Nalin Kumar Kateel and Raghupati Bhat would have protested on the road by ‘Urulu Seve’. The processes of privatizing all the Escom companies in the state are already completed,” he said.

District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Youth Congress president Deepak Kotian, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Annayya Sherigar, Dr Sunita Shetty, Veronica Corneleo, Nire Krishna Shetty, Ajith Shetty, Ramesh Kanchan, Sathish Ameen Padukere, Keerthi Shetty, Roshan Shetty and Ganesh Nergi were present.
