Bantwal, Aug 28: In connection with the alleged incident in which five students who had visited Karinja temple were intercepted and questioned, the Punjalkatte police have taken three persons into custody.

A first information report registered in Punjalkatte police station claims that the accused had forcibly stopped the students by forming an illegal assembly with the specific purpose of committing crime.

Two girl students pursuing medical education in Mangaluru along with three young men had visited Lord Karinjeshwara temple in motorbikes. When they were returning, five unidentified youth had stopped them near the temple pond and questioned them, the complaint states.
