June 22: Dakshina Kannada cases drop to 374, Udupi 79; 17 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, June 22: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, June 22 reported 374 new coronavirus cases and fifteen deaths, while Udupi reported 79 fresh cases and two deaths.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 89,623 out of which 6,820 are currently active.

As many as 556 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

The district recorded fifteen deaths due to coronavirus on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1077.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,61,579 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 79 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 65,551 out of which 1,520 are currently active.

A total of 219 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

Coronavirus has claimed 375 lives in the district so far, including two on Tuesday.

Till now, 3,68,975 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 99,330 have received the second dose.
