Karnataka records 35,297 new coronavirus cases, 344 deaths in single day

Bengaluru, May 13: Karnataka on Thursday, May 13 recorded 35,297 fresh coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 5,93,078.

As many as 344 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Thursday. The total death toll so far has risen to 20,712.

On the other hand, Bengaluru Urban recorded 15,191 new cases and 161 deaths in a single day. 

The state recorded 34,057 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 14,74,678. 

So far, Karnataka has seen 20,88,488 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 27.64%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.97%. 

As many as 1,09,76,189 people have received vaccination so far.

    I hope we can trust this number. Tests have decreased and slowly, number of tests done in that particular day is no more being reported. If infact the numbers are coming down, it is really great.
