The rates are lower in gulf. If you can smuggle one kg of Gold, you can earn 4.75 lakhs approx. But if you do not have resources to buy 1 kg gold, there are people who give you 1 kg gold in various forms and you get straight 1 lakh when you hand over the gold in Mangalore. Moreover, 24K gold from Dubai fetches more rate in India. Out of 100 mules who carry gold, only 2 or 3 get caught.

This is one of the 'pros' of privatization. Airport employees are monitored on their efficiency and rewarded as well for their performance. No lethargic and casual attitude. If you have noticed recently in comparison to the past, the 'check in ' staff and other members are extra nice in greeting people. They smile ear to ear .
