Kundapur, Mar 6: “A government package of Rs 1,680 crore has been received for carrying out developmental works in Byndoor in the last two and a half years. Everybody has received service in the long-awaited projects. The Mini Vidhana Soudha that is being constructed now will be completed in the next one and half years,” said MLA B M Sukumar Shetty. He was speaking after setting in motion Rs 8.5 crore worth Mini Vidhana Soudha work on Saturday. The foundation for the project was laid by chief minister B S Yediyurappa in the past.

“The tourism projects are formed keeping in mind the ports at Maravanthe and Kollur. Drinking water will be supplied to every house at a cost of Rs 550 crore under the centre’s Jal Jeevan scheme with help from the state government. Vented dams were constructed at several places at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Work is in progress in other places. Rs 150 crore are received from the fisheries department. Jetty is being constructed and a port is being developed with it. Rs 25 crore are received for Byndoor taluk hospital and Rs 30 crore are received for Subba Reddy vented dam. 108 vehicles are sanctioned from the health department to Byndoor. Most of the roads in the rural area are developed,” he said.

Tahsildar, Kiran Gorayya, district panchayat member, Babu Shetty, Shankar Poojary, Suresh Batwady, Byndoor taluk panchayat president, Mahendra Poojary, vice president, Malini K, social justice committee president, Pushparaj Shetty, member Sujatha Devadiga, contractor Sujay were present.

BJP Byndoor mandala president, Deepak Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering. Ananda Kharvi rendered the vote of thanks.
