Lucknow, Oct 5: Two passengers were killed and 11 others injured when a speeding bus rammed into a cement-loaded tractor-trolley from behind on National Highway-9 in Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning, police said.
The accident occurred around 6 am on the Mohandabad flyover under the Gajraula Kotwali police station limits.
The bus was travelling from Manali to Nepal when it collided with the tractor-trolley. Two passengers, identified as Bhagirath (45) and Surbhit (42), died on the spot.

Locals rushed to the site and helped rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. Police teams later reached the spot and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Some of those seriously injured were referred to higher medical centres for further treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Bhadauria said the bus driver may have lost control after becoming drowsy, resulting in the collision.
Police took the bodies into custody for necessary legal formalities.
The accident briefly disrupted traffic on the highway, but vehicular movement was later restored, the ASP said.
