Kasargod, Apr 25: The ritual of according invitation to Jumma Masjid, Udyavar here for participation in annual festival to be held at Arasu Manjishnar Daivastana, Udyavar from May 9 to 12 was held at the masjid on Friday April 23.

In the times of disturbing occurrences that has dealt a blow to the secular fabric of the society, the ritual that has the history of several years reinforces the religious harmony in the society, especially among the Hindu and Muslim brethren. The patri along with the heads of daivasthana and ten community leaders took out a procession to the masjid.

The Muslim brothers too accorded a warm welcome and treated the arrived with the utmost respect. It is a ritual that the daivas of Udyavar arrive at the masjid with an invitation to attend the annual festival to be held at the daivasthana.

From time immemorial people from all religions have lived like one family and good neighbours in India. All these communal issues were unheard of till BJP came to power and communal outfits like Rama Sene and RSS raised their ugly heads. We are all Indians and human beings first. Religions are a matter of personal matter and should never interfere with our daily lives in society with one another. God created all men equal and man devided them into different religions and the modern society so called leaders like Advani, Togadia and Varun Gandhi started communal divisions.

Mitwa, your knowledge of history is wonderful.. Tippu Sulthan and Mughals destroyed Hindus and Christians.. wa.. wa.. what a knowledge.. Go and see any forte built by Tippu Sulthan that doesn't have a Hanuman Mandir. The best example of Communal tolerance. Just read once again the History of Mysore , How many non muslim top brass ministers adorned Tippu's cabinet. Don't make silly noice. go and study the ABCD of Mughul History. If all the Mughuls were communal, they would have turned Hindustan in to Islamisthan in their rule period that lasted for more than 600 yrs.There is a proverb in Kannada.. " Kamale kannige Kanuvudella Haladi"

The need of the hour. I liked it.
Just before the advent of communual parties and their parvar organisations like BD/SRS/HYS etc hindus, muslims, christians were living like children of one mother, celebrting each others festivlas, wishing each other, helping each other without the micro feelings of any faith. Those days only one thing mattered i.e. HUMANITY. People were happy and neighbours were very imporatant members of the extended families and more than the relations neighbours were cared and loved. We badly need those days and its lost glory. Dirty politicians, helped by some seers have started deviding us in the name of religion. But truly speaking we are not devided and we stand united. United we must fight the devision and its patrons. Rightly said by me Advani is a pioneer in the devision of India on religious lines and those who blindly support him, I believe, are purusing the policy of hate and devision. Thats very sad and most unfortunate. Lets all spread love. Love can spread peace. Peace can bring prospeity. Prosperity can bring happiness. Happiness can bring good health. Good health can bring long life. So at the end of the day all are benefitted and the whole society would stand united. Long live communual harmony. Thanks Daiji for highlighting the communual understanding and I am sure Daiji would take the lead in bridging the gap between various communties and bring about changes in the thinking of average common man.

Three historical temples I visited many years ago,one is Shabarimala,here hidu muslim brothers walk together,
2nd one is Pavagada temple which is located in gujarath state,here the masjid is on top of the temple,3rd is udyavara mada,here also both comunity people worship together.it is a history,it is not the influence of any horekanike.... I repeat,jobless dirty politicians and some anti social elements disturbing the religious harmony in the society.Thanks Daiji, covering these type of news which is helpful to reduce the rift inbetween hindu muslim comunity.

It is so nice to see another display of secular culture. We have been living like this for ages until the communal agenda was spread by communal parties like BJP for their political gains.

We belong to certain religion by birth only and it is necessary for us to live together with brotherhood between religion and uphold our mangalorean culture. Let us cleanse our culture from fanatics who spread hatred between communities.

This Udyavara Mada have two Mada big & small most people are there is beries it is near Kunjathur check post very big open place to pass this place to reach Kanava Thirtha where Sakunthal Met Dushyanth , Durvasa cursed her this place is very harmony all hindu muslim are like family member helping each others comminity many are working in GCC some are in Ship & more in business Udyavara Railway & NH17 passing near the Masjid best place keep this harmany for the future generationto learn our tolarance

During the inauguration of ‘City Centre’ in the invocation prayer a child sang a beautiful devotion song which says, “God has such a vast heart but why the human heart is shut". The next stanza says, "The sun is shining for all of us without a difference but why the human heart is locked and the lock is rusting". I was very touched by this song.
There should be more ‘changed-Udyavar’ in every corner of our region because during Babri incident this place was very badly hit with communal frenzy. We should learn from our past mistake and make it a point to force our Temples/Mosques/Churches to interact with one another's religious festival through formal invitation or by a personal invite with procession like how they do it in Udyavar for ages. The youngsters in every village should learn from this and encourage their elders to show a gesture of good-will for different religious communities in the region and through physical interaction like processional invitation they must assure the others that 'Main Hoon Na'.
Further during such processional invitation the host should erect a pandal with seats and receive them with pleasantries/gifts, offer them with snacks and soft drinks and in the end both the leaders of the host and the guest should conclude the event with good-will speeches/felicitation.

Dear Advaniji, please dont take any other ratha yatra, we had enough from last 24 years. We know how live peacefully. Being a muslim my mother gifted 100 kg rice to nagamadala seve we never been published and its not even nessessary.

I am very much proud to see like this vocation, our ancient India was like this, after British rule in India politicians divided according to their religion for their benefits, but now it come to at dangers point. Finally at least like this vocation may be patch up lit bit people hurtle mentality.

Every human beings support these kind of goodwill gesture by Hindu-Muslim brothers.As did Mr Janardhan Poojari arranging Horekanike to Ullal Dargha the motive of Arasu Daivastan's invitation to Masjid for annual festival is also commands a goodwill gesture and a message that binds HINDU-MUSLIM brotherhood.As polarisation @ peak now especially in DK/UDUPI and Kasargode,may these kind of interaction lead to peacful coexistance and develop brotherly relation amoung various section of the society.

Its very positive step and such exchange of invitations and greetings will surely bond the communties. Recently one Muslim businessman from Udyavar has given horekanike to the Paryaya celebrations and in return this businessman from Dubai has been facilitated by the swamis.
