Mangaluru, Jun 18: Hindustan Institute of Safety Management, Valencia, here, in association with ND Sons Engineers, Baikampady in the city, recently held a training session on fire fighting and mock drill at the premises of ND Sons Engineers, Baikampady.

This training was conducted as part of their fire safety drive to enhance safety awareness among the employees and management to teach them adequate methods of safety.

Presiding over the event was M D Poojary – Propreitor, Rajendra Salian – Project manager and Norbert Rodrigues, senior safety trainer from Hindustan Safety Mangaluru, Joel Renjal, assistant safety trainer from Hindustan Safety, Mangaluru.

Speaking on the occasion Norbert Rodrigues said, "We are providing safety training today. But, safety practices should be an everyday ritual. There cannot be life without safety. We are in danger every moment of our life."

A fire safety drill was practically conducted on the site to teach the workers immediate fire relief measures. Fire drills help to prepare employees to respond quickly, calmly and safely. Employees of ND Sons Engineer’s were given an opportunity to practice emergency procedures in a simulated but safe environment.

Training was also given on how to use of fire extinguishers, which is important because it will help them to locate an extinguisher quickly, giving them a better chance of bringing the fire under control. All the staff and employees were taught to use the fire extinguishers and practically given an opportunity to use them.

The employees were thankful to the management of N D Sons Engineers, as safety training is given in only a few companies today.
