Mangaluru, Nov 6: St Agnes PU College on November 5 inaugurated its Home Science laboratory here.

Dr Sr Maria Roopa, the joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, Sr Norine D'Souza, the principal, Sr Janet Sequeira, the vice-principal were the guests of honour.

A prayer service was performed by the students seeking the blessings of God on the special occasion.

As per South Indian tradition, the chief guest, Dr Sr Maria Roopa, inaugurated the laboratory in a unique way by boiling the milk, to indicate a new beginning.

The students spoke about the significance of different disciplines of Home Science and enlighted the gathering on the vast areas in Home Science.

The chief guest addressed the gathering by elaborating on the 'Art and Science' involved in Home Science and how the students should effectively make use of it.

The programme was compered by Rishita Picardo, the Science secretary and Fathimath Hisana welcomed the gathering. Fathima Hanna expressed her gratitude to the gathering by thanking all the teaching, non-teaching staff and the students who joined hands in making the programme a success.
