Mangaluru: Vikaas PU College organizes vibrant sports meet


Mangaluru, Nov 2: The sports meet of 2019-20 of Vikaas PU College, here, was held at Mangala Stadium, in the city, on November 2.

The long awaited event was inaugurated by Pushparaj Hegde P, asst general manager, Syndicate Bank. In his inaugural address, he congratulated the students on their march-past which was systematic and disciplined. He also advised them to maintain the same spirit throughout. He also encouraged them to participate in all the events and not to feel disappointed if they lose. He further advised the students against cheating in sports by different means to be winners. He told them to take care of their health and to exercise at least one hour a day.

Krishna J Palemar, former minister of State of Karnataka, and chairman, Vikaas Education Trust, in his presidential address, stressed on the importance of sports activities along with academic activities and took pride in giving sports a prominent place at Vikaas PU College. He encouraged the students to go up to the level of international level.

J Koragappa and Suraj Kumar Kallya, trustees, Vikaas Education Trust, Parthasarathi Palemar, voordinator, Vikaas Group of Institutions, Dr Manjula A Rao, dean, Vikaas Group of Institutions, Prof T Rajaram Rao, academic director, Vikaas PU College, Dr Suneel B M, principal, Vikaas PU College, Ayshwarya K, principal, Vikaas First Grade College, Purushotham Poojary, secretary, Amateur Kabaddi Association, Dakshina Kannada and Ramesh Poojary, physical director, Vikaas PU College were present.

Shruthi Kishor, lecturer in Physics, welcomed the gathering, Deepika Shetty, lecturer in Commerce, proposed the vote of thanks. Deepika Shetty, lecturer in Physics, compered the programme.
