Mumbai: Adnan Sami Receives Threat Call

Mumbai, Apr 21: Pakistani singer Adnan Sami, involved in a bitter legal battle with his estranged wife over allegations of harassment, has received a death threat, his publicist claimed on Monday but police said no such complaint has been received so far.

"Sami has communicated this threat to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Ali Gilani through telephone," Sami's publicist Alok Mathur said.

Sami has also complained to the home ministry here, he said, adding his security has been enhanced.

"The singer-composer received an international call last Saturday asking him to stop harassing his wife or face the consequences," Mathur said.

Sami, 35, has got an interim relief from the sessions court which directed the police to give a 72-hour prior notice before taking action against him on any complaint filed by his wife Saba.

Oshiwara police, however, said that they have not received any complaint from Sami on the alleged threat to him.
