Mumbai, Feb 10 (IT) : The decomposed body of noted bollywood actor Mahesh Anand, known for playing the villain in several films in the late 80s and 90s, was found at his Andheri residence, according to the police. He was 57 years old.
Living alone as his wife stayed in Moscow, Anand is suspected to have died at least two days ago. His body was sent to the nearby Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem to ascertain the time and cause of death. Even though the police could not find a suicide note, the possibility has not been ruled out.

Anand has appeared alongside top stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Govinda in films like Shahenshah (1988), Thanedaar (1990), Vishwatma (1992), Gumrah (1993), Khuddar (1994), Coolie No 1 (1995) and Vijeta (1996).
However, Anand had been facing major financial issues for the last several years and even had a drinking problem, according to ANI. His last film Pahlaj Nihalani's production Rangeela Raja featuring Govinda in the lead role, which released on January 18, was his first appearance on the big screen in 18 years.
In a Facebook post, Anand wrote, "I'm happy after 18 years i had onne movie released today,,,,rangeela raja,,,,,,,, i am just therefor 6 minutes in the end,,, hope you all will welcome me back. (sic)"
As of now, the Versova Police have registered a case of accidental death. They have also informed Anand's sister who resides in Mumbai, a police official told IANS.
