No tax upto total taxable Income of 5 Lakh is in the form of rebate under section 87A which means It will be available to only those Individuals whose TOTAL TAXABLE INCOME is less than or equal to 5Lakh (after availing all available deductions).

There is no change in Tax slabs and there is NO exemption to those Individuals whose total Taxable Income (after all deductions) is more than 5 Lakh. As I understand if your total income after all deduction is Rs. 500000, you pay ZERO tax. If your total income after all deduction is Rs 500100, you pay Rs.13,021 tax (which includes 4% cess).

this means a person from upper caste who earns 8 lacs per year is poorer than the other person who earns 5 lakhs per year

First time in history that the government is saying that India is growing at the 7% while crores of jobs are lost; when the joblessness is worst in last 45 years.
May be that 7% growth is due to the growth in the companies of Ambani and Adani. I know Reliance profits raised by almost 50% in the last 5 years.

This budget is a last ditch effort by the frustrated and dying BJP.
for 4.5 years they squeezed the poor and middle class and favoured only the big industrialists.
Now when dying they want to show that they will go from power doing something good.
By providing 75000 crores loan waiver for farmers, whom they tormented during 4.5 years, they will leave the treasury empty for the new government.

Modi Govt Has Spent Rs 4,880 crore on Advertisements in four years. This is public money and BJP can spend like water. Is this makes good sense .
This money could have utilised for poor citizens. All this is publicity stunt.

It's a budget without a single big idea. No new jobs will result. It's a budget by small minds. This is the last budget of the Modi government. No longer he becomes a prime minister.
