‘Uddan’, Don Bosco, Empower Street Boys with Jobs

Mumbai, Nov 3: ‘Uddan’, an NGO for welfare of orphan boys organized a ‘Career Mela’ for the boys under the care of Don Bosco Shelter, recently. Thousands of street boys who got their training through Don Bosco were selected  for various jobs at the event.
 


Don Bosco and Uddan also gave them official identity cards and bank accounts. MPs Priya Dutt and Eknath Gaikwad, corporator Raghunath Tawai, John S Rebello, general secretary, district Congress committee, and Fr Burnaby, administrator, Don Bosco Shelter, were also present on the occasion. 

Gaikwad appreciated the efforts of the two organizations in bringing these boys into the mainstream of society. He also appreciated corporates like Mahindra and Mahindra and others in helping in the effort.
