Manama, Feb 27: Young Konkani rock star Kevin Misquith entertained the Konkani music enthusiast in Bahrain with his evergreen songs on Friday, February 24.

Thirty-year-old Kevin Misquith, born in Bahrain, presented his 45th live-in-concert along with his band members Jackson Noronha and Clyde Ashley Lobo and local musicians Sayonjee Simon, Rajeev and Edwin Cardozo.

Local singers Sydney Correa, Ronald Fernandes, Christopher Roshan Lobo, Preetham Aranha, Aeron Franco, Teena D’Souza, Melba Martis, Sonia Pinto, Stephanie Alva and Sachitha Fernandes rendered their voices, making the show a big hit.

Leading MC Dr Vincent Alva compered the show, along with Renita Fernandes.

The show, organised by Bahrain Konkans in association with Indian Club Bahrain, witnessed the presence of houseful crowd. Nearly 40 dancers trained by Hansul Gani, Namita Salian, Laurine Fernandes and Preetham Acharya danced to the tunes of Kevin’s melodious songs, making the event a memorable one.

Leading comedian Roystan Kiran D’Souza, along with local talents Stany D’Souza, Ivon Sujay Pinto, David D’Souza, Pramila Martis and Nirmala Fernandes, with the technical support of Melroy Rodrigues, won the hearts of Bahraini audience through their rib-tickling comedy.

The stage programme was held in the presence of Bahrain Konkans conveners Vincent and Laurine Sequeira, Melwyn and Shabitha Rodrigues, Naveen and Judith Mendonca, and Melvin and Dr Wilma Mendonca, Sacred Heart Church parish priest Fr Freddy D'Souza, and philanthropists and businesspersons Simon and Pressy Machado and Jessy D’Souza.

Indian Club president Anand Lobo, Kevin Misquith, Dr Vincent Alva and Roystan Kiran D’Souza were felicitated on the occasion.

The show remained unique as Bahraini Konkani crowd witnessed new experiments like mash-up and tribute sessions for the first time. Moreover, local Konkani artists came together in big numbers for a mega show for the first time in the history of Bahrain’s Konkani community.

No words to appreciate the hard work of 4 gentlemen. It mesmerised me. Good to see the unanimous support extended by the people to the organisers. Unique show probably the best only after Gulf Voice finals in terms of organisational perfection. Kevin and team were the best. Yes he has unique style. Looking forward to another show soon from Kevin. Time was not sufficient this time for fulfilling the once more demand. Long live Konkani music.

The Kevin Misquith's show was one of the successful even in Bahrain and well organised programme kudos to the organisers. The music has no language barriers so being a non-konkani I enjoyed the tunes of musicians with the blend of local artists'. Hope to see more multilingual programmes in future too.

Superb Show! We never happened to see such a spectacular show in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Kevin Misquith has proven he is another superstar in the Konkani musical industry, his voice still hits our ears and all we hear is the lyrics hummed by the people here.
Compère was fantastic and the dances were choreographed in such a professional manner which by and large made the super organized show even more amazing.
Finally, hats off to the Bahrain konkans, as well as The Indian Club President Mr. Anand Lobo for entertaining us in the Baila section. Comedian Kushali Kinnikgoli and his local team were incredible.
Long Live Kevin, Clyde, Jackson, Kiran, Dr. Vincent and Renita Pinto, God Bless u All and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
