Mumbai, Feb 12:
MT Educare Pvt Ltd, (Mahesh tutorials group of companies), a giant in the the field of coaching and training having 19 years of successful experience under its belt, has taken the first step towards what it describes as ‘futuristic education’ by entering the field of online education. Accordingly it has launched its 'MT Online', an online testing facility for competitive exams.

It has begun its endeavor with a testing module for MHT-CET examinations, the entrance examinations for all health sciences, engineering and pharmacy degree courses. In this context, Chandresh Fooria the director - Science, of Mahesh Tutorials said “This can be extended to any form of objective exam. So very soon, we will also be introducing online testing for CA-CPT, AIEEE, JEE and CAT – Management Entrance." Later we also plan to start such online tests for subjective exams.” he added.

Further the press release stated that MH-CET testing module helps the student evaluate his/her preparation as it contains all type of questions which would appear in the exam. It is time-based (as per pattern of MHT-CET) or self-paced (as per student’s convenience). The testing pattern is chapter-wise, subject-wise or complete test. The practice test is also diverse including beginners, intermediate and expert levels.

Moreover, complete online analysis of the test which includes right answers with hints, and a graphical representation of performance based on subjects and chapters will also be given. According to Fooria “What is unique is that students will be able to know the particular topics in which they have not performed well and accordingly brush them up. Also this test will enable the students to know where they stand with the rest in the state.”

In the meantime, Mahesh Tutorials also has plans to launch an online teaching module which it believes will act as a ‘support system’ to the teachers. “We will register students annually for this programme whereby sessions will be delivered online. We want to introduce it by 2009-2010 academic year. This programme will be a combination of content, virtual classroom and 2D & 3D animations” said Rajesh Shetty, assistant vice-president (Business Development Technology).
